So be sure to like our Facebook page! In other news, I recently went to the Guggenheim and I have some pictures and opinions to share. There were 2 shows going on. The first was called Italian Futurism: 1909-1944 Reconstructing the Universe. I have always loved Italian Futurist art, and I was expecting to see many familiar pieces. However, I was very surprised! There were incredibly unique pieces that I had never seen exhibited before. And there was a huge variety of work. An amazing show. I highly recommend it. I snapped pictures of some of my favorite pieces.

I love the color and the shapes. All the pieces were so coherent. The colors all fit together, and the pieces complemented one another. If you are in NYC, go see it! Very inspiring. If I you’ve seen my jewelry, you know how inspired it is by more traditional forms of art. Going to the museum always gives me new ideas for pieces.

The second show I saw was called Under the Same Sun: Art from Latin America Today. I was very excited for the show, I love Latin American art, and take any opportunity to see it, especially contemporary art. I am happy the Guggenheim dedicated an entire show to Latin American art, but I was not as impressed with this show. First of all, the show was quite small. I was also surprised at some of the famous Latin American artists not included in the show, and the age of some of the pieces. If you are in the Guggenheim you should see this show, But I’m not sure if it’s worth making the trip just for this. Anyone else see this show and have opinions? I’m curious to hear.
