Halloweekend

I hope everyone had a great Halloween! I didn’t do much on Friday night, but I still had a great weekend. First of all, just a little reminder that our STUDIO SAMPLE SALE is this Thursday. Hope to see you there!!

Last week I went to Chelsea market and saw some amazing pumpkins. They had jack-o-lanterns that were huge and beautiful, and gourds of all different shapes and colors. I also got one of the best cappuccinos at 9th street espresso, they added cool coffee art in as well.

On Halloween night itself, I ended up staying in. But Michael, my husband, went out to party. I helped him make a last minute costume, and Laila, our dog got dressed up to. We only had an hour or so to put a costume together. My first idea was to just be a color. Dress all in one color and use face paint, and you could just be Blue or Red. All the stores were out of face paint! We improvised and made an Aladdin costume out of a scarf, one of my pins, and a long tunic. Doesn’t he look like the bad guy from Aladdin except in white? Michael had a great time at the bar/restaurant Virage where there was a DJ and dancing.

Sunday we went to watch the NYC Marathon. Our good friend Phaedra and her brother were both running. They are incredible! They were both under 3.5 hours and got to start with the Elite runners. It was so fun to watch. I downloaded a nifty app that let me track them the whole time on my phone. After the race we had a huge brunch and ate bagels, lox, cookies, and cheese. Poor Phaedra could barely walk! I like to call myself her unofficial coach since I am always suggesting different races. I am hoping she will sign up for the Boston Marathon, then me and Michael could cheer her on once again.
